Kristi (aka Dr. K.) graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She has worked in mental health and education for over two decades as a Middle School Counselor, Psychotherapist, Education Advocate, Bullying Prevention Trainer/Consultant, and Counselor Educator. Kristi’s primary goals are to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure equitable access to education for students, and to support families, faculty, staff, and the broader community. As a researcher and practitioner, Kristi aspires to facilitate an evidence-based school counseling program that helps students overcome barriers to learning and prepares them to be lifelong learners, as well as contributing, caring, curious, and creative community members.
Kristi values public education and aims to create spaces where students feel safe, seen, heard, cared for, and enriched. She meets with students at the individual, small group, and classroom levels and offers consultation, training, psychoeducation, and support to faculty, staff, and parents/guardians/caregivers.
