ESOL

The ESOL program at Academy School supports students whose first language is a language other than English, or whose family speaks a language other than English at home. At Academy School there are over 25 students who speak more than 10 different languages. Students are tested using WIDA ACCESS to determine their English language proficiency. The goal of this program in accordance with state and federal mandates is to reach native level English in all four competency areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
