Educational Support - Resource Room
Whitney is one of the special educators at Academy School and works primarily with students in kindergarten and first grade. She feels very fortunate to have attended school in this district as a student and to now be able to return as a teacher.
Whitney holds undergraduate degrees from Elon University in special and elementary education. She also holds a master’s degree from Simmons College as a reading specialist and is an adjunct professor at Antioch University, co-teaching a literacy course.
Whitney’s goal for all of the students with whom she works is to encourage them to become lifelong learners by carefully selecting and differentiating curricula to fit their individual learning needs. This is her seventh year working at Academy School and she couldn’t imagine a more collaborative, engaging and exciting place to work!
