Please join us on Thursday, Sept. 22nd from 5pm-7pm for our annual Welcome Back Night. Please bring a side dish to share with a BBQ dinner sponsored by ACT, Academy School’s parent group. The barbeque is from 5pm-6pm. At 6pm teachers will begin introductions to their classroom – all of the who, what, where, why and how. There will be a second round of teacher presentations at 6:30 for convenience.
After a barbeque dinner outside, teachers will be in classrooms presenting important information to families. If you have more than one child at Academy, you will have the opportunity to see each classroom. Representatives from our parent group A.C.T. (Academy Community Together) will be present and looking for volunteers to help with a variety of projects. Additionally, we will be asking your input on topics that are of interest to you for future parent nights. For example, last year we had a parent night on Common Core Math. Building strong relationships between school and home is best for kids, but it is also important that parents feel supported and connected to the Academy School community. This evening will be a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn and understand how we can all work together to make 2016-2017 the best school year possible here at Academy. Mary Ross
